DTU and Novo Nordisk sign collaboration agreement on robust design

Today, Wednesday 4th December, Novo Nordisk and DTU signed a collaboration agreement on the research- and education programme, Robust Design Programme. The collaboration is expected to have a great influence on innovation and product development in Danish industry in the future.

The Robust Design Programme gives new possibilities within the area of industrial design and product manufacturing, and the programme is financed half by DTU and half by Novo Nordisk with a total amount of 14.5 mill. DK kr. Thomas J. Howard from DTU Mechanical Engineering is Head of Programme. Robust design includes a method for analyzing and preventing failure and bad performance in new designs of mechanical products before they are produced and distributed on the market.

At the launch event at DTU today, the collaboration and the programme were introduced by Jesper Kløve, Senior Vice President Device R&D, Novo Nordisk, Henrik Carlsen, Head of Department, DTU Mechanical Engineering, Niels Henrik Mortensen, Head of Section, Engineering Design and Product Development and Thomas J. Howard, Head of Robust Design Programme.
