The Informatics Unit aims to provide a centralised, Center-wide infrastructure that would support and accelerate the impactful research and technology development that is ongoing at The Center and beyond.

The Unit is focused on leveraging the combined power of computational biology, software engineering, data science and lab automation to develop solutions and services that are aligned with the Center’s strategic vision and the scientist’s needs.

We’re working to achieve this vision through:

  • The implementation of computational methods and organism knowledge-bases to gain a deeper understanding of biological systems.
  • A combination of off-the-shelf product implementation, development of open source software applications and lab automation to support and automate scientists’ workflows and, wherever possible, to increase process efficiencies, sample throughput, and data quality.
  • The application of data science to derive the maximum value and insights from the vast amounts of data we generate.
