Research areas
Based on the sustainability criteria, DTU Biosustain has decided to focus on three main research areas which were identified as significant for establishing a biobased economy and the green transition.
The areas are focused on developing natural products which will mine and utilize natural biosynthetic pathways to produce compounds of interest that cannot be obtained otherwise, microbial foods which will reduce our dependence on animals and animal products and sustainable chemicals, which will reduce our dependence for petroleum-based products.
