CHO Cell Line Engineering & Design

The CHO Cell Line Engineering and Design Section address the need of rapidly obtaining high yields and high quality of biopharmaceuticals produced in optimised CHO cells through genome-scale-based methodologies.

Our main goal is to develop state-of-the-art genome editing technologies, omics data generation and high-throughput screening methods to improve CHO cell engineering efforts and facilitate identification of factors that control growth, protein production and processing.

Our main goals are to:

• Identify cellular factors, that enhance growth, productivity and protein quality through application of high-throughput screening technologies and systems biology data.

• Develop efficient and precise genome engineering tools to accelerate generation of CHO cell factories with improved clonal stability.

• Optimise engineering strategies for improved CHO cell factory design.

The section is located at The Novo Nordisk Foundation Center for Biosustainability, DTU Biosustain, at DTU Lyngby and is headed by professor Gyun Min Lee.
