Jingjing Zhang, Assistant Professor in the Structured Electromagnetic materials group, has been appointed board member of Nature’s Scientific Reports.
Jingjing's work lies mainly in the world of metamaterials and plasmonics. Metamaterials are artificial media structured on a size scale smaller than the wavelength. Materials of interest exhibit properties not found in nature, such as negative index of refraction. The potential applications of metamaterials include imaging, biosensing, and invisibility cloaking.
"Being an editor on Nature’s Scientific Reports enables me to get access to the up-to-date research first hand. That might be the most important benefit for my own research."

Jingjing Zhang is from China. She came to DTU in 2009, just after she achieved her PhD degree in China. She enjoys the working environment at DTU very much:
“There is a good chemistry among the group members. We work productively, and all kinds of collaborations happen naturally. I can also keep a good work-life balance here.”
