Presidential interest in the Center for Playware's interactive tiles and the Centre's collaboration with the University of Iringa regarding welfare technology

On the Nyerere Day, 14th of Oct 2013, Tanzanian President Jakaya Kikwete played with playware developed at DTU's Center for Playware and heard about the collaboration with the University of Iringa on the use of playware in rehabilitation from Professor Henrik Hautop Lund.

Master thesis student at the Center for Playware, Line Steiness Dejnberg Jensen, is currently in Tanzania exploring the Playware ABC concept in Sub-Saharan Africa by investigating community based rehabilitation and the use of playware technology in rehabilitation centres, orphanages, schools, and hospitals.

Tanzania is considered by the Danish Government to be one of Denmarks priority countries with regards to bilateral development work and assistance. The overall objective of Danish cooperation is to assist the Tanzanian Government in an effort to address poverty and inequality, to promote green growth and jobs, to support sustainable social development and to build a strong democratic government.
