The National Food Institute invites to Karolina Sulek’s PhD defence on how useful bacteria, probiotics, and useful carbohydrates, prebiotics, influence the composition of substances, which are formed by the bacteria in the gut. The defence takes place 8 January 2013 at 13.00.
In her PhD, Karolina Sulek from the National Food Institute has shown that the metabolism in the gut microbiota from patients with inflammation in the large intestine differs on significant counts from the metabolism in the gut microbiota from healthy human beings. The PhD project also studied how probiotics and prebiotics influence the metabolism in healthy human beings and animals.
