"We are also experiencing the benefits of having participated at the Hannover Messe for four years, as FCH Test Center and DTU Energy Conversion have established a solid international network and have a good reputation in the industry"
Business Development Engineer Frederik Berg Nygaard

We have been here 3 days and we network and talk a lot. We talk about our department, our test center, our dedicated employees and our catalog of competences.

I gave a presentation Monday about our projects and the department, and Eva Ravn Nielsen gave a presentation Wednesday. Both can be viewed online at Youtube.

We still experience great confidence in SOFC gaining momentum at some point, even though there is not a lot of news on that front this year. All the major SOFC/SOEC companies; TOFC, Hexis, Elcogen, Vailliant, Sunfire, SOFC Power, CERES Power, Plansee are present, as are a lot of new small businesses from around the world. Everyone makes cells and stacks and integrates different systems and applications, and the story is, that everyone is looking for partners for demonstration and some look for customers. The Hannover Messe is primarily to network and make deals in the industry. End customers are not present.

The situation for PEM is a little different, but at the same time not far from the SOFC. PEM is clearly and still a young industry, but it is also an up-and-coming industry with a higher level of standard products, more specific areas of application and several subcontractors.

DTU Energy Conversion has several reasons for participating at the fair. It is about expanding our network through scientific projects, but also to share our expertise and knowledge through tests and characterization methods, thus assisting the industry on the road to commercialization.

We have had many visitors and talked shop to many companies and interested parties at our booth these first days of the Hannover Messe, but we have spent just as much time visiting other exhibitors to talk to all those people and companies, who can and will be able to use our expertise in testing, characterization and development. We are also experiencing the benefits of having participated at the Hannover Messe for four years, as FCH Test Center and DTU Energy Conversion have established a solid international network and have a good reputation in the industry and among the biggest companies, a lot of whom we are also taking part in many large EU projects with.

Frederik Berg Nygaard will be telling more about the outcome of the Hannover Messe, when the fair is over.
