Successful kick-off-conference for Arctic Cluster of Raw Materials

The Arctic Cluster of Raw Materials was well received at a kick-off conference. DTU’s Senior Vice President for Innovation and Entrepreneurship told the participants how they can use DTU as science-based innovation partner in the Arctic.

On September 26 the Arctic Cluster of Raw Materials had a kick-off conference with a little over 80 participants. The participating companies, mostly from Denmark and Greenland, had the opportunity to hear about business and innovation opportunities in connection with extraction of raw materials the Arctic.

The Arctic Cluster of Raw Materials is established by DTU, the Confederation of Danish Industry (DI), the Employers' Association of Greenland (GA) and Danish Industry Foundation. The purpose of the cluster is to prepare Danish and Greenlandic companies for the business opportunities that arise in connection with extraction of raw materials in the Arctic. DTU contributes to the cluster as an innovation partner for the participating companies.

Among the speakers on the conference were representatives from the raw materials industry, the Danish and Greenlandic business world and the Danish Arctic Ambassador. DTU was represented by Senior Vice President for Innovation and Entrepreneurship, Marianne Thellersen, who gave the participants concrete examples on how research-based collaboration with DTU can look like.
