IP & Commercialisation

The Center has a strong focus on translational activities. Accordingly, our pro-active IP & Commercialisation Group has scientific competencies and is centrally located in order to facilitate close interactions around IP for the projects and alignment of the commercial strategies for the ongoing projects.

The IP & Commercialisation Group is industry’s link to the Center's various technologies, projects and products available for licensing and available services. The Group establishes research collaborations, license agreements and new ventures with the goal of building enduring, mutually beneficial partnerships with industry. Further, the IP & Commercialisation Group in collaboration with internal scientists is responsible for providing the basis for spin-outs from CFB. The group strives to make the deal-making process as efficient and quick as possible, providing a solid foundation for strong, enduring relationships with our industrial partners. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for innovation and entrepreneurship at the Center
  • Receiving/assessing Notification of Inventions
  • Managing the IP processes, IP portfolio and IP strategies
  • Commercialise IP portfolio and identify/assist in establishing collaborations with industry
  • Identify/assist CFB spin-out opportunities with incorporation and financing
  • Representing CFB at partnering conferences to attract licensees, investors and collaborators
