Awards and Honors
Professor Brunak is a member of the Danish Academy for the Natural Sciences since 1997, member of the Board of directors of the International Society for Computational Biology since 2001, of the Danish Academy of Technical Sciences since 2002, and of the Danish Royal Society of Science and Letters since 2004. Among his many honors, Professor Brunak received the Grundfos Prize for crucial and ground breaking research within systems biology and bioinformatics.
Professor Brunak has published more than 170 peer-reviewed articles. His papers are highly cited with more than 16,500 ISI paper citations, currently receiving more than 2,000 citations per year. His most cited paper (from 1997) has more than 3,750 citations. His papers have four times been on the Institute for Scientific Information Red Hot List of the ten most cited publications within biology in specific periods. Professor Brunak’s h-factor is currently 52.
